Local Rules

Currently the following local rules are applicable for CCAGC events

  • Double Net Par Max per Hole
  • Embedded Ball (in own pitch mark) through the green
  • Use Drop Area’s where provided
  • Free Relief (1 Club Length, from Nearest Point of Relief, No Closer to Hole)

§  Landscaped Flower Beds

§  Tree’s that are Staked with Ropes

§  Newly Laid Grass SOD (doormat, burnt out or green)

§  Ground Under Repair (Not Marked)

o   Tire Tracks (fairway & Immediate Rough before Tree Line)

o   Area where man made holes or digging has occurred

o   Hard Pan, bare surfaces are not considered GUR

  • Sand Traps or Waste Bunkers (NEW wording for 2011)

o   If your ball lay in a Footprint or an area in the sand trap where rain has washed out the side area and left gapping ruts, you can take relief (nearest point within the Hazard) no Closer to Hole. If No Closer to hole is not available, then by Consensus of Foursome a drop closer to the hole will be allowed. If you take a drop outside the bunker, it is to be played as an unplayable lie.

o   Relief is taken by Lift, Rake and Roll and not a DROP or Placement of the ball.

o   Water Filled Sand Traps is the exception to the above. In cases where rain has completely filled the sand trap and no relief within the Sand trap is available, even closer to the hole, then a free drop 2 club lengths from entry point, no closer to the hole.

New Additions to our Local Rules for 2011

  • Free relief when ball within a divot whether the divot has been replaced or not, filled with sand or not, within your own fairway
  • Free relief when tree root presents a danger to the golfers physical well being due to root effecting the normal swing path for the shot and when the root is within the “TREE Line” of the fairway. A majority of the group must agree to this before relief can be taken,

General Rule for Lift Clean & Place vs Playing the ball DOWN

When it’s CART PATH only the event will play LIFT, CLEAN & PLACE within 1 club length, no closer to hole within your own FAIRWAY. Otherwise the ball will be played DOWN. The club does not have a “MUD” rule. The only relief is if we are playing lift clean and place or your in casual water.

On RARE occasions will we play Lift Clean and Place “THROUGH THE GREEN Those will be announced at event check-in should that occur.
