
1.
Name
The name of the golf club shall
be Coastal Carolina Amateur Golf Club,
and is owned and operated by Patrick M. Jones and will serve as the Chairman of
the Board until the club is dissolved or sold.
2.
Charter
To stimulate interest in
tournament amateur golf at the Coastal
To promote and foster among the
members a closer bond and fraternity for their joint and mutual benefit, and to
promote and conserve the best interests and true spirit of the game as embodied
in its ancient and honorable traditions.
To encourage
conformance to the “USGA Rules of Golf” by creating a representative authority.
To maintain a uniform system of
handicapping as set forth in the USGA Handicap System.
To provide an
authoritative body to govern and conduct club competitions.
3.
Membership
Membership shall be available to all men and women with a current USGA handicap index. There shall be at least active 10 members at all times or the club shall cease to operate under these by-laws.
Memberships
rates are determined each year based upon the projected costs to run and
administrate the club. There will be a
NEW member rate amd a RETURNING member rate. To qualify for the returning member rate, you
must have been a member the previous year and played in at min of 2 CCAGC
events the previous year.
The Calendar and Fiscal year of
the club will run January 1st through December 31st.
The officers of the club may
confer honorary memberships upon those whom they feel have contributed to the
advancement of golf. The unanimous
affirmative vote of the officers shall be required to approve such actions.
In the event any member of the club
shall commit any act which reflects, discredit or disrepute thereon or shall
refuse or neglect to comply with the rules and regulations adopted by the
officers and general membership, such member shall be subject to suspension or
expulsion after written notice and the right to be heard by the officers of the
club, by a majority
vote of the officers at any regular meeting or event called for
such purpose.
The annual meeting of the Coastal Carolina Amateur Golf Club shall
be held in January of each year with the date, time and place to be determined
by the club officers.
All membership fees and dues
shall be established by the officers of the club from time to time in such
amounts as they deem adequate to operate and maintain the club. Members shall be liable for the dues (unless
exempted) until their written resignation has been received and accepted by the
officers of the club.

Events
The club shall hold events (in
form of golf tournaments) on a regular basis with a minimum of X events starting the 1st of February
of each year and ending in November of
each year.
Golf tournaments are to be
either 1 day or 2 day events played on Saturday, Sunday or
Costs of the events will be
determined by the negotiated local rate for club members plus event fee
to cover expenses for prizes and event administration fees. The event fee will include the
following:

5.
Handicapping
The CCAGC will track a members and guests tournament scores for each
CCAGC event they complete. After 5
completed CCAGC events, the member or guest will have a CCAGC Index. When less than
20 events are completed, the number of scores used to determine the index will
be according to the USGA rules for calculating an index with fewer than 20
scores.
The CCAGC will only use scores from the current year and the previous
year as the basis for determining the CCAGC Index (New for 2012)
In the event a member or guest’s CCAGC
Index is lower than the member or guests current USGA index, the
member or guest must use the CCAGC Index for CCAGC events.
Handicap reductions for an event will take place if
o
Players Not Positing scores in last 30 days will be
assessed at 10% Reduction
o
Players Not Posting Scores in Last 60 Days will be
assessed a 20% Reduction
o
Players Not Posting Scores in Last 90 Days will be
assessed a 50% Reduction
o
Players not posting all played (through Hdcp Date) CCAGC
Tournament scores will be assessed a 10%
reduction
Members must register for club events a minimum of 7 days in advance of the event scheduled date. The best time to register and pay for the events is at the event prior, meaning that at each event you will register and pay for the next event.
Registration and Payment for
events is available to club members via the club website and use of Pay
Pal. Here the member may use his/her credit
card for payments which will not be accepted at the course. A service fee of up to 3.00 will be included
for Pay Pal payments. Members may submit
payment in advance by personal check either at the course or by
Any returned check will result
in suspension of member until the time any and all fees incurred by the club
are reimbursed plus the amount of the original check is paid in cash.
Tee time will be posted on the club’s event tee sheets as payment is received by the club. Players will be given their preference of tee times based upon availability at the time payment is made. Tee Times are limited and entries are accepted on a first paid basis. No spots will be held for members without payment.
Registered members must show up at the course
regardless of the weather. Here on the
Grand
Members must check-in a minimum of 15 minutes prior to 1st tee tee time of the event. Players not available to start their round at their appointed tee time will be given the maximum score for each hole missed per the club Double Net Par Maximum policy.
Guests will be allowed at club tournaments provided the player proceed as follows:
Handicap information including club issuing USGA Index.

If guest does not have a valid USGA index,
list of last 5 rounds of golf, course name, rating and slope and date of play
will be required plus disclosure of any previous handicap keep.

Guests must pay an additional 10.00 guest fee
·
Guests will play to 90% of their USGA Index
until they have played a min of 5 CCAGC events..
The prize fund for the event is distributed in the following manner:

Trophies are awarded to each 1st
place event winner. A club Champion
trophy will be awarded to the member with the most points after all playoff
events.
There will be 3 assigned flights
per event. The following chart is a
basic guideline on how players will be assigned a Flight
0.0 to
9.9 A
10.0 to 15.9 B
16.0+ C
All prize money will placed on account for use in future CCAGC Events. At the end of the year or upon request,
monies on account will be distributed as a Visa/MC gift card
.
All prizes will be awarded under
the guidelines set forth by the USGA and in accordance of a members
amateur status.
At
each event the club director will offer optional contests in which the golfer
may choose to participate in. These
include Closest to the Pin, Net Skins, and Gross Skins. Each Contest
will require an additional fee of $5.00
per contest.
Closest to the Pin: There
will be 1 Par 3 for each of the 3 flights (A, B & C) and any remaining par
3’s will be available to the Full Field.
The 5.00 fee will be distributed as 3.50 to the Par 3 that is associated
to the flight the golfer is assigned to (based upon
tournament index) and 1.50 to any full field flights.
Net Skins Game: There
will be a net skins game for the entire field.
The only limitation to the use of handicap for the net skins game is
that a maximum of 1 handicap stroke can be used on
Par 3’s. All other holes the golfer can use his/her full
handicap to determine the net score for the skins game. To win a net skin, the net score must be
birdie or better.
Gross Skins Game: On
occasion a gross skins game may be available and is open to all golfers
including quests. To win a skin, the
golfer must score a birdie or better to win the skin.
Members must abide by the dress code of the course in which the event is being played. Players denied access to the course because of dress code policies will be disqualified.
Members must act in an orderly manner while representing the club at club sponsored events. The club will not tolerate inappropriate or abusive language, club throwing, alcohol abuse (public drunkenness), lack of golfing etiquette, or other such behavior deemed detrimental to others. Such conduct may lead to disqualification and suspension of membership.
Members must bring with them and present at check-in the most recent available handicap report, card or index to the event which a member is playing in. The club reserves the right to hold distribution of prizes won until such time the club can verify the accuracy of such handicap. The club reserves the right to disqualify any members posted score if the club deems the presented handicap is inaccurate due any of the following but not limited to; failure to post all scores prior to tournament, failure to notify club of exceptional scores attained but not entered prior to tournament but after distribution of a players index, posting of inaccurate scores for handicap purposes.
Players whom post a score of 8 strokes or more less than the course rating from the tees played and has a net score 4 or more strokes better than the next lowest score will be subject to automatic disqualification. Exemption to this rule is if the player has 8 or rounds as a member or guest of the CCAGC tour.
For Male players, the club will
play the set of tees that equal a course yardage in the range of 5500 - 6000
yards, normally labeled as the forward tee’s.
For Female players, the club
will play the set of tees that equals a course yardage in the range of 5000 to
5800 yards, normally labeled as the Red
tee’s
Players who allowed to play from
a longer tee and will have their handicap for that event based upon the slope
from that tee and the difference in the course ratings from the forward tee to
the chosen tee per USGA rule 3-5.. This
rule adjusts the number of course strokes based upon the difference in the
course rating from the tees played and the base set of tee’s used by the field.
Scorecards will be given to each
member when they check-in at the golf course.
Players must not keep their own score during the tournament. Prior to the start of the round, each player
should exchange their scorecard with another member of the same tee time. The score cards will allow the player to
enter his opponents gross and net score and keep track
of his or her own score for verification purpose only. Each play must sign the scorecard as Scorer
for the player whose score he/she kept plus also sign his/her own scorecard as
the Attester.
Pace of Play Penalty (To entire Foursome) will only be applied if

Sand Traps
o
If your ball lay in a Footprint or an area in the sand
trap where rain has washed out the side area and left gapping ruts, you can
take relief (nearest point within the Hazard) no Closer to Hole. If No Closer to hole is not available, then by
Consensus of Foursome a drop closer to the hole will be allowed. If you take a drop outside the bunker, it is
to be played as an unplayable lie.
o
Water Filled Sand Traps is the exception to the
above. In cases where rain has
completely filled the sand trap and no relief within the Sand trap is
available, even closer to the hole, then a free drop 2 club lengths from entry
point, no closer to the hole.
· Players must hole out on each and every hole
or may pick up if the player’s score is equal to double net par. (Max score =
par * 2 plus number of hdcp strokes allocated to that
hole)
·
One
ball rule is not in effect for our tournaments.
You must hole out with the same ball as you teed off with the exception
the ball was lost or deemed unplayable and approved by playing opponent.

Players
must play with USGA conforming balls and clubs.
·
In
case of dispute over rulings on course, play two balls under different
conditions and club pro will make the appropriate ruling.

Each
year the club will award the club championship award to one of it’s club members.
To
determine the club champion, members will earn points based upon their order of
finish in official CCAGC Events. Bonus
points are awarded to those that finish in the top 4 of a CCAGC event. Bonus points vary based upon the event type.
At
the end of the regular season, the member with the most club championship
points will be awarded a Club prize that is announced prior to the start of the
season.
Starting
in 2010, the club championship will be completed with a series of playoff
events. Members
club points will be RESET based upon
the order of finish of the top 40 members.
The player will the most points will start with
10,000 pts and the player in 40th place will start with 7000
pts. Each playoff event will award club
championship points per the published point chart determined at the beginning
of each season. This will allow all
players that qualify for the playoffs a chance to win the club
championship. Players that play in more
events will have the advantage of earning the most points.
