CCAGC Event: Lions Paw –
On a perfect weather
day, with near perfect course conditions the course played tough an won the battle against the field with only 3 players
breaking par with their handicap. 2 of
those 3 were rewarded with net 69’s. A
number of other golfers were in the hunt but couldn’t extend or hold on there
games coming down the stretch when the wind picked up and made a premium on
ball striking.
Kerry Taylor of Wilimington, NC always plays well here at Lions Paw having
won at this event before posted a net 69 as did Mac Daniels.
The two headed to the 10th hole for a sudden death playoff
with Kerry Taylor prevailing as the winner.
Kerry also captured the B flight while Mac’s 2nd place finish
plus the A Flight winner. In 3rd
place was the every consistent Walt Wysk with a net
71 on the low gross of the day, 79. One
shot back in 4th place with a net 72 was CCAGC director,
The par 3’s played
extremely long and tough this Saturday.
The full field Par 3 (shortest on the course) was won by Lee Buck Wilson
and the B Flight was won by Rob Morrow (Guest of Wayne Rhodes). For the 2nd straight event, nobody
from the C flight captured the CTP so 2 events will be carried over to the
River Hills event in 2 weeks. No body
from the A flight was able to stay on the #3 green thus providing a carry-over
to the next event as well
9 skins were won,
each worth 12 dollars.

At River Hills in Little River. Net Stroke Event.
