32 players teed it up on a dark and rainy day at Tigers Eye on Saturday.  The rain, the thunder and the lightning caused various delays in the play but all 32 players endured the 6 hour round to finish the event.  The course playing fast throughout the day despite the rain with the greens rolling around 10+ most of the day.  After 6 hours 2 players where alone at the top of the leader board.  Wayne Rhodes and Walt Wooddell both finished with net 65 and had to back on the course for a sudden death playoff where Wayne Rhodes picked up his 2nd win of the year and a step closer to the Club championship in his 1st full year in the club.  Walt Wooddell played well all day long but a lip out put in sudden death was the end and a 2nd place finish.  In 3rd all alone was Bob "Bubba" Tomassetti with a sparking net 67.  In a 3 way tie for 4th at net 68 was Phil Pfieffer, Adam Jones and Jimmy Fox.  Rounding out the top 25% in a tie for 7th at net 69 was Chris Gibson, Walt Wysk and Bill Roberts.

 

CTP winners:  Adam Jones,  Wayne Rhodes, Jimmy Fox and Phil Pfieffer.

Net Skins winners were Gibson, Adam Jones, Paul O'Bryant, Mac Daniels, Phil Pfieffer and Jimmey Fox.

 

In the Match Play Series:  Larry Smothers def Pat Jones in 20 Holes,  Paul Lecki def Danny Wims 7 & 6,  Steve Folgino def Sean O'Brien 2 & 1

 

The Semi-Finals in the Match play will feature Gene Falls vs Larry Smothers and Steve Foligno vs Paul Leckie

 

Next Tournament is Sat July 5th @ Shaftsbury Glenn.  All those registered by Monday June 30th and that have earned World Am drawing tickets will be eligible to for the drawing of 4 players that will play for the 2008 Free World Am Tournament in Late August here in Myrtle Beach.  Please let me know if you will be playing.  If you sign on to play after Monday June 30th, you will not be part of the drawing to play for the prize.
