Tropical Storm FAY wanted no part of Myrtle Beach and turned inland taking the rain and humidity with it. What it left behind was 4-6 inch Bermuda rough and gusty breezes that played havoc with good and bad shots alike.

Once again, only a handful of players were able to break net par, 6 to be exact. Of those six, 2 tied for low net at 67’s, once again forcing a sudden death playoff.

The Winner, new member, Joe Porter from the Wilmington area, referred to us by Paul O’Bryant. His 81 net 67 and net birdie on the 1^st playoff hole (#10) beat World Am guest and 2 time event player, Rusty Culberston from Knoxville, Tn whose net 67 and net bogey on the playoff hole got him 2^nd place. Another World Am guest, Mike Simmons, and son-in-law of member Bob, “Bubba” Tomassetti, had a strong day with a gross 79/net 68 to finish 3^rd.

Founding out the top 25% were Lee Wilson in 4^th, Rich Riker in 5^th, Tony Kanas in 6^th (another new member), Tied for 7^th was Smothers and O’Brien, with Rick Terwilliger and Kerry Taylor tied for 9^th.
